Kristen has ten years of experience working in mental health. Kristen has spent the last five years working in a police department responding alongside officers to mental health calls as well as supporting community members through crisis. This has given Kristen a unique opportunity to work with multiple populations with such varying experiences across the lifespan.
Kristen is Certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and has significant experience leading groups and individuals through trauma. Kristen obtained her MSW through the University of Missouri in 2019 and her BS in Sociology through Pittsburg State University where she also minored in Women's studies and Multicultural studies.
Kristen utilizes a compassionate and direct approach with an emphasis on empowering individuals as experts in their own lives. She specializes in trauma, depression, anxiety, stress management, life transitions and grief and loss. Kristen loves to laugh, employs both dark humor as well as Laffy Taffy jokes and can be found gardening, playing with her dogs, or watching (and quoting) The Office.
